Villa Themis is a perfect family holiday home, beautifully set in the countryside of Armenoi and just a 10 minutes' drive away from the sandy beaches of Rethymno. The villa is a true oasis of peace for up to 9 guests, it is modern, air-conditioned and finished to the highest standard, with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, private pool, children's playground and even a vegetable plot for the use of the guests. Offering great privacy together with pleasant views over the surrounding Cretan countryside Villa Themis is designed to impress.

Set over one floor it is fully air-conditioned (in all the bedrooms and lounge), beautifully furnished with taste and style and incredibly airy. With 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms with shower and a large lounge with adjoining kitchen. The spacious lounge has comfortable sofas, fireplace, satellite TV, sofa bed (for the 9th guest). The fully equipped kitchen has all the essential for a self-catering holiday including 4 cooking rings, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, dining table. Big patio doors open onto the pool facing patio (furnished with rattan sofas, slings and dining table). The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and inviting. 3 of them have double beds, TV and en-suite shower rooms while the fourth bedroom has a smaller double (120 x 200 cm) and is located next to a family shower room.

Private swimming pool (7.5 x 4 meters - depth between 1.2 to 1.4 meters) with outdoor shower, comfortable sunbeds and parasols.
For outdoor dining - a shaded furnished patio, a brick-built barbecue and a small vegetable plot where guests are welcome to pick up the seasonal delights that the Cretan soil will offer.
A children's playground with several toys as well as a ping-pong table.

Very nice Villa. The inside is clean and in a good condition. Electronic blinds on the windows really aids a good nights sleep and very well received. The kitchen is very well stocked with a good selection of utensils etc. It would be a nice touch to have some essentials in the fridge on arrival perhaps. But there is a good local shop about 5mins away in Armenoi.
The showers are a little small and not having the shower head mounted above your head isn’t ideal. But the bathrooms are clean and in a good condition.
Outside area is lovely, although a little small. We couldn’t find any parasols for the sunbeds or cushions to lay on them, not ideal for a comfort!! But the pool is lovely and gets to a nice temp later in the day. A small point is that there wasn’t a hot tub as shown in the pics.
The villa Is actually situated quite rurally, next to another, similar, villa. The nearby village (Armenoi) is very close and and has several supermarkets. We preferred the smaller one, as the staff were a lot friendlier and the owner manager offered us delivery options.
We can also highly recommend the restaurant over the road from it (Alekos). It does really good local dishes and they don’t disappoint on quantity. Don’t expect a menu though, they just bring you the dishes of the day. The staff are great!!
You definitely need a car to get here and to the beaches. I would stick to the south coast beaches rather than north. The sea is calmer and they are generally nicer. It’ll take you 25-40mins to get to them. Ammoydaki was our favourite.
Overall a nice villa and best holidays were good to deal with. If a little slow to respond to some email. But we were able to talk to them if needed and they were very helpful during the Covid situation.
