Perched on a privileged hillside position offering pleasing vistas across a swathe of the Algarve’s undulating olive covered interior, this lovingly restored country house offers a stylish yet unpretentious interior with ample exterior space incorporating a stunning gated swimming pool, various sun terraces and an extensive lawn; all making for an idyllic holiday retreat.

Thoroughly renovated to exacting standards, using a pleasing mix of old and new, Laranjeira exudes understated charm featuring traditional beamed ceilings, a modern fitted kitchen and contemporary furnishings and décor. Extending from the living space, three bedrooms, all with air conditioning, provide comfortable sleeping arrangements, together with two separate shower rooms.

Outside, an eye-catching manicured lawn provides a perfect play area for children, young and old, while covered and open terraces allow for outdoor living under the famed Algarvian blue skies. Poolside, a convenient barbecue area with facilities will no doubt entice foodies in the party to enjoy dining al fresco.

Nearby Santa Caterina da Fonte do Bispo (2.3km) provides basic amenities with a couple of restaurants, a mini-market, a tempting café / bakery and is also home to the renowned kilns producing Santa Caterina tiles, many of which adorn terraces and swimming pool surrounds across the Algarve. A short drive through rolling hills and forests of eucalyptus down to the coast brings travellers to charming Tavira (15km), on the banks of the meandering River Gilao and home to gracious riverside mansions and an impressive 11km island beach. Further afield, a visit taking in the charms of Faro’s old quarter replete with time worn cobbled streets, pretty squares and an array of tempting eateries for all tastes and pockets, is a must.

Golf Courses - The Algarve is renowned for the quality of its golf courses, offering challenges for every standard of player. There are over 30 courses along the length of the region.
Water Sports - There are opportunities along the coastline at many of the beautiful beaches.
Horse/Pony Rides - Available from Club Santa Maria near Santa Caterina da Fonte do Bispo.
Quatro Aguas - A delightful beauty spot, just southeast of Tavira which has lovely views of the lagoon and some very good seafood restaurants to try. The regular ferry departs here for the Ilha de Tavira, the sand dune island stretching 11 km, popular in the summer months for its excellent swimming.
