On the road linking Santa Barbara to Loule, Casa da Fonte's gated entrance opens to intricate calçada paving that wraps around the house, interspersed with local stone and bordered with tall palms, bright bougainvillea, fragrant citrus and ancient olive. An expansive south facing pool terrace provides a privileged place to enjoy tremendous views whilst the more energetic will enjoy use of the table tennis and table football facilities.

A sophisticated and very grown up interior cleverly combines contemporary design, furnishings and décor with traditional vaulted ceilings and beautifully laid terracotta tiling. Excellent lighting, well-appointed rooms and a kitchen rich in equipment and modern appliances provide added touches to ensure an enjoyable stay.

Nearby pretty Santa Barbara de Nexe (1.6km) is home to several excellent restaurants. For local colour, head to Loulé market (6km), showcasing flavoursome produce and traditional handicrafts. The Algarve’s world renowned beaches (13km) are but a short distance away, and a visit to the charming town of Tavira, resplendent on the banks of the Rio Gilão with its ancient Roman Bridge, is a must see.

Water Sports - There are opportunities along the coastline at many of the beautiful beaches.
Quatro Aguas - A delightful beauty spot, just southeast of Tavira which has lovely views of the lagoon and some very good seafood restaurants to try. The regular ferry departs here for the Ilha de Tavira, the sand dune island stretching 11 km, popular in the summer months for its excellent swimming.
